Julie lost her courageous battle with leukemia Wednesday, ten days shy of a year since her original diagnosis. A resident of San Mateo, California, she has been and will continue to be remembered as a pillar of strength, the person who kept everyone else’s spirit up during her battle. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, fiancé, and dear friend to many. Raised in Santa Rosa, Julie graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1987 and UC Davis in 1991, with honors from both. After earning her teaching credential, she taught for eight years in the San Mateo-Foster City School District. Julie became a stay at home mother after the birth of her first child in 1999. Prior to her diagnosis in November 2008, she was an active member in her community, serving as PTA co-president and head of the book fair at her children’s school. Julie enjoyed her role as “soccer mom”, as well as scrap booking, and baking. She was an avid San Jose Sharks fan, a true Jimmy Buffett “Parrothead”, and always anxiously awaited her next Mah-Jongg game. Julie is survived by her two young sons, Daniel and Nathan Friedman of San Carlos. She is also survived by her loving parents Ron and Yvonne Crouse of Santa Rosa, her sisters Angela England (Robert) and Tina Kneis (Chris) both of Santa Rosa, her devoted fiancé Scott Marsh of San Jose, and her nieces Stefani, Ashleigh, and Briana England and her nephew Conner Kneis.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 18, listed in the Funeral Services tab. Please visit the following website for more information about Julie: www.caringbridge.org/visit/just4julie.
